Summer Improv Camp: for Grown-Ups

Attention grown-ups! Isn’t it time you feel like kids again?

You’re invited to laugh and play and create with The Adventure Project – in person – this summer!

Join our week-long summer program, where grown-up improvisers will build their improv skills, learn games, and play with an ensemble of peers. Led by The Adventure Project’s Amy Angelilli who has more than 20 years of improv experience, this camp is suitable for ALL GROWN-UPS from ages 18 to118! Campers will share their new-found improv skills in a friends and family showcase on Friday as camp wraps up.

Camp runs 2 – 5 p.m. Monday – Friday, July 26 – 30 at Now + Zen Studio in St. Augustine.

Improv Basics: a 6-week class for grown-ups

Throughout this 6-week introduction class, students will explore the basic concepts of improvisation in a warm, safe and supportive environment. The class is designed to build self-confidence and explore creativity using the fundamentals of improvisation. Designed for both actors and non-actors, it will expose students to:

* Being – and reacting – in the moment.
* Accepting and building on offers from classmates.
* Embracing – and using – failure.
* Co-creating and collaborating with classmates.
* Practicing communications skills such as active listening & giving/taking focus.
* Thriving in an unscripted environment.
* Being resilient when it’s easier to quit.

Students leaving this course will have a working understanding of the basic fundamentals of improvisational theater as well as an increased appreciation, and comfort, with being on stage – and in life – without a script.

Start Date: Monday, March 29
End Date: Monday, May 3

All classes are 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. at Now + Zen Studio.

Coronacoaster Comedy

A physically distanced, socially awkward comedy show

Part stand up comedy, part improv theater and all physically distanced and socially awkward, Coronacoaster Comedy highlights local comedians in safe — and absurd ways.

Our host, the Corazon Cinema & Cafe, will be serving beer and wine as well as a special Coronacoaster menu – come hungry and thirsty!

For your protection:

* No tickets will be sold at the door – pre-sales only.

* Performers and patrons will be physically distanced.

* The room will not go over 50% capacity (40 people).

* The staff will be wearing masks and gloves.

* Patrons are required to wear masks when not eating or drinking.

Let’s stay safe, and, have some holiday laughs together – even if they are totally socially awkward!

Kid*Prov – an after school improv program for teens

A six-week after school improv progam for teens.

Tuesdays, October 13 – November 17, 4 pm – 6 pm

Teens will explore the basic concepts of improvisation in a warm, safe and supportive environment. Improv games and activities will grow self-confidence and enable teens to expand their creativity individually and as an ensemble.

Teens will experience:
• Being – and reacting – in the moment.
• Accepting and building on gifts from fellow campers.
• Embracing – and using – failure.
• Co-creating with others (listening, giving & taking focus).
• Thriving in an unscripted environment.

This program follows safe COVID-19 guidelines including:
* A maximum of 9 teens – and the instructor – are able to be in the studio.
* Teens and instructor are required to wear masks.
* Teens and instructor will be spaced out around the perimeter of the studio.
