To Mars and Beyond Vacation Bible School

Blast off with the first VBS to land on Mars! Kids become Voyagers on a journey through space, exploring where God’s power can take them. They’ll lift off to distant planets on special missions to collect power sources. Along the way, they’ll learn how God walked with heroes of the Bible, and that God is always with them. During the adventure they will enjoy out-of-this-world fun games, crafts, science, music and timeless Bible stories that inspire kids to give glory to God, who is able to do far beyond all that we could ask or imagine! We are now open for pre-registration!
To Mars and Beyond Vacation Bible School is for children starting Pre-K 4 to 5th grade and rising 6th graders. Students entering the 7th grade can register as helpers. Campfire Conversations

Did you know?

* Loneliness rates have doubled since the ’80s.
* People are addicted to social media.
* Comparing our lives to everyone else’s highlight reels takes a toll on our self-esteem.
* One in four Americans have zero friends to confide in.
* Studies show that having poor social connections is as harmful as smoking or obesity.

Let’s combat this by having conversations that matter. At Campfire Conversations we’ll ask deep questions by candlelight and see what magical adventure we can create — together.

2018 SOUPer Bowl

The SOUPer Bowl event was created by a group of Nease parents in 2015 to bring the community together, raise awareness of student hunger in St. Johns County, and raise funds to provide nutrition to hungry students. This epic soup-tasting even brings together the community and over 20 local chefs. In addition to enjoying a large selection of gourmet soups, guests select a handmade pottery bowl crafted by a St. Johns County student. Event tickets are only $25! The SOUPer Bowl has raised over $80,000 for First Coast Blessings in a Backpack through the 2016-2018 events. Blessings supplies weekend food for students that rely on free and reduced breakfast and lunch during the week at school. All the money raised at the SOUPer Bowl is for St. Johns County students. Blessings currently serves over 800 students in St. Johns County. It costs $100 per student per year. Please join us this year as we continue the fight to end student hunger in St. Johns County!

Join the St. Augustine Community Chorus for Gaudete! Rejoice! 2018 Christmas Concert

We kick off the season with our Christmas program on Dec. 15th at 7:30 pm and Dec. 16th at 2:00 pm in St. Augustine’s beautiful Cathedral Basilica. The chorus will be accompanied by brass, percussion, and strings, including some traditional carols, excerpts from Handel’s Messiah, and a special appearance by the St. Augustine Youth Chorus. It is also the 200th anniversary of Silent Night. We will include the original version in this program, which was altered slightly early on into the tune we know today. As we aspire to perform music of living composers, this program includes the music of Z Randall Stroope, Michael Engelhardt, and Dr. Peter Mathews. We are excited to premiere our commissioned piece, written for the chorus by Dr. Mathews, entitled “What Sweeter Music.”
