Colonial Night Watch

December 7, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 8:00 pm
Free

This day-long annual event invites attendees to re-witness history as our city re-creates the Night Watches that took place in garrison towns back in 1739. It is said that back then, any citizen who remained on the streets after the city gates were locked were required to carry a light so they could be seen and identified by the Night Watch. The day’s activities will begin with firearm demonstrations at the Castillo followed by reenactments at The Colonial Quarter. The Night Watch procession will begin at 7 pm with a cannon firing. The procession will then lead to a parade in which soldiers and militia can be found singing Christmas Carols for the holiday season.

This event is free and open to the public, so don’t miss out!
