Finger Mullet Film Festival

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED FROM JUNE 5-6 TO NOVEMBER 5-7, 2020. FMFF is dedicated to nurturing an experimental art and film culture in St Augustine by providing an inspired platform of the best national and international short films alongside a burgeoning local and regional culture of time-based creators and story tellers. Our goal is to discover, cultivate and screen new local narratives as a means of generating critical discussion and empowering community collaboration.

Our vision will merge the robust cultural power of an international short film festival with a collaborative localized program that provides instruction to citizens in order for them to explore storytelling through the creation of time-based artwork. A screening of Local and Student films will be on Friday, November 6, from 5pm to 8pm, in conjunction with First Friday Art Walk. We will screen selected International Shorts on Saturday, November 7 at 6pm.

Sunset and S’mores Benefit

What could be a more fun and casual way to spend a late afternoon Saturday than watching the sunset from the banks of Moultrie Creek, taking photos, making S’mores, and nibbling at a buffet, while meeting people interested in supporting the city’s award-winning St. Augustine Orchestra? Cowan Financial Group is hosting this event at the home of Cary and Judi Cowan. There’ll be a sunset selfie set-up, buffet, bizarre bazaar, interactions with some of the musicians and their instruments along with a cash bar of wine, beer or a ‘Cowan Cocktail’,. After the sun sets, guests will roast S’mores in one of the firepits while enjoying the twilight hour.

Meet & Greet with Short E. Dangerously

As seen in the newest Ripley’s Believe It or Not! TV show on Travel Channel, Short E. Dangerously will be at Ripley’s St. Augustine this Saturday, June 29th, from 1pm – 3pm for a meet and greet!

The meet and greet will be held at the St. Augustine Ripley’s Believe It or Not! located at 19 San Marco Ave, St. Augustine, FL 32084. Guests will have the chance to take a photo, grab an autograph, and even meet the “half man” himself.

BIO SHORT E.
Short E. Dangerously developed a condition at two years old that led to the amputation of both his legs. Short E. “half-man” travels extensively with a sideshow troupe, wowing audiences with mind blowing acts like hand standing on bowling balls and jumping from a chair onto a pile of flaming glass without being harmed.

Lightner After Hours

Discover Otto Lightner’s Victorian Era curiosities and nature-inspired collection while listening to the folksy sounds of local St. Augustine duo The Willowwacks. Given that a “Willowwack” is a secluded spot in the woods, this month we’ll celebrate Spring’s arrival and outdoor living with campsite inspired light hors d’oeuvres and libations. Please join us in the lobby of our historic museum on Thursday, March 28 from 6 to 8 pm.

This event is free and open to the public. Attendees may enter at the Granada Street courtyard entrance located across from Flagler Auditorium.

The Lightner Museum is a non-profit cultural institution sustained by the generous support of individuals, businesses, and sponsors.  Donations are appreciated.

Lightner After Hours is a held the last Thursday of each month, and is funded in part by the Tourist Development Council of St. Johns County.
