Highlights of the morning will include a delicious breakfast with real life Disney characters as well as Superman, Spiderman, Winnie the Pooh, Elsa from Frozen, Cinderella, Tiana and more. Characters will go table-to-table for hugs, high fives, photos, autographs, and general merriment. Kiwanis is a global organization dedicated to serving the children of the world. Funds from this event will primarily be used to support the Service Leadership programs in local schools. The Kiwanis Club of St. Augustine has clubs at Crookshank, Osceola, and Ketterlinus Elementary schools, Murray and Gamble Rogers Middle Schools and Pedro Menendez and St. Augustine High Schools. Through these programs, Kiwanis strives to instill leadership skills and teach children the value of community service. Funds are also used to provide materials for the Kiwanis Toddler Sensory Day Programs in St. Johns County, with activities designed to help sensory development in young children, and acquaint parents with simple activities to encourage the same at home. Some funds will be used as well to help other local organizations that benefit children, such as the St. Johns County Little League, the Early Learning Coalition of North Florida, and Ability Tree First Coast (providing respite care for families of special-needs children.)
