Altrusa Club of St. Augustine Celebrates International Literacy Day
In celebration of International Literacy Day, the Altrusa International Club of St. Augustine will be donating age appropriate reading material and clothing to the Port in the Storm Homeless Youth Center in St. Augustine. The Center is a safe space facility having the potential to provide shelter and resources for up to 16 homeless youths in St. Augustine.
International Literacy Day originated with UNESCO and has been celebrated annually on September 8th since 1966. The purpose of the Day is to promote universal access to quality education and learning opportunities throughout people’s lives.
