Bird Walk at Fort Mose
Led by a park volunteer and free to all participants, Fort Mose is hosting a guided bird walk on August 11 and 22. Fort Mose is situated along the Atlantic Flyway and boasts several natural environments where birds thrive. You can explore an estuarine tidal marsh, a maritime hammock, and “Rookery Island,” which is home to many nesting species in the spring.
Guests are encouraged to dress for the weather (this is Florida after all!) and bring binoculars, water, comfortable walking shoes, and a field guide if they have one.
The event is free, but there is a $2 per vehicle entrance fee to the Visitors Center.
