SUMMARY:Music by the Sea Free Concerts
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday evenings are special for tourists and locals alike as the St Augustine Beach Civic Association presents the 17th season of Music by the Sea. This free\, family friend event happens each Wednesday evening starting on May 7th and continues through September 11th. 19 weeks\, 19 different bands featuring music from multiple genres of music including Jazz\, Blues\, Classic Rock\, Country\, Disco\, Pop and Latin too. The event runs from 6 until 9 PM each Wednesday evening at the St Johns County Pier Park in the Pavilion. Each week a different local eatery provides optional food service with dinners priced at $10 or less. Patrons should bring their own blanket or beach chairs\, pack a cooler and get ready to dance. There is a shuttle service available for most shows\, please vist our website at www.freebeachconcerts.com for details.

And catch it she does\, regardless of the medium. She works with pastels\, watercolor\, collage and acrylic\, garnering many top awards around Florida and Georgia with all of them. Dee consistently surprises the viewer with the strength and confidence of her work. With minimal brushstrokes her subjects come to life\, seemingly ready to jump off the canvas. \nIn Jacksonville\, Dee had a two person show at the Cummer and has art in the permanent collections of the University of North Florida and St Johns Country Day School\, and AT & T. Her work has been included in many juried shows at Jacksonville University\, Florida State College at Jacksonville\, the University of North Florida\, the Karpeles Museum\, the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens and the Jacksonville Art Museum . She was included in an international exhibit held by the National Watercolor Society and the International Collage Society. She has received signature status with the Florida Watercolor Society. SUMMARY:Confessions of the Corazon:  A Night of Storytelling
DESCRIPTION:“Confessions of the Corazon” returns to the Corazon Cinema and Cafe with Kathy Kniery as our featured storyteller\, on September 26th. According to her Tale Tellers of St. Augustine bio\, it states: \nKathy is a recently transplanted Illinoisan. After 30 years of serving in public and private schools as a library/media specialist and sometimes social studies teacher\, she gave up cold weather and snow for sunshine and ocean breezes. It was not a hard choice. Now retired she is focusing on the favorite part of her former career: storytelling. Kathy is also learning more about her favorite hobbies\, photography and graphic arts. \nRetired educator and storyteller and a fan of the CUBS! There is room for 10 storytellers each time and it is first come\, first served. Sign up by purchasing one item and there are free refills on most beverages. Sign up at 5:00 p.m. and the stories begin at 5:30 p.m. Each storyteller receives six to eight minutes of stage time. The featured storyteller gets 10 minutes of stage time and 50% of the proceeds from the door. \nAfter each event\, the current featured storyteller draws the name for the following month’s storyteller. \nIf you are an artist\, bring in your works and sell them. Let’s hear your elevator pitch. “Confessions” is perfect for all artists\, authors\, comedians\, writers\, poets\, influencers\, content creators\, entrepreneurs\, filmmakers\, actors\, storytellers\, etc. \nWe look forward to seeing you at the event and hearing your stories. SUMMARY:Butterfield Garage’s September Feature Artist Dee Roberts Paints it All!
DESCRIPTION:Dee is highly recognized for her diverse skills as an artist. An Artist Talk\, First Friday September 6\, at 6pm is an opportunity to hear Dee’s talk about her processes. \nDee Roberts goal as an artist is to catch the spirit of what she sees\, in abstract form as well as through naturalistic wildlife drawings. And catch it she does\, regardless of the medium. She works with pastels\, watercolor\, collage and acrylic\, garnering many top awards around Florida and Georgia with all of them. Dee consistently surprises the viewer with the strength and confidence of her work. With minimal brushstrokes her subjects come to life\, seemingly ready to jump off the canvas. \nIn Jacksonville\, Dee had a two person show at the Cummer and has art in the permanent collections of the University of North Florida and St Johns Country Day School\, and AT & T. Her work has been included in many juried shows at Jacksonville University\, Florida State College at Jacksonville\, the University of North Florida\, the Karpeles Museum\, the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens and the Jacksonville Art Museum . She was included in an international exhibit held by the National Watercolor Society and the International Collage Society. She has received signature status with the Florida Watercolor Society. Dee has been awarded many prizes in shows at the St. Augustine Art Association as well as receiving special awards at their annual Honors Show: the Brian Wolfe Award for best painting\, the Ann James Prize for Best Pastel Portrait\, and Best in show. \nThis year Dee received the prestigious Carl Steinsieck Award in St Augustine’s Figure show. She enjoys participating in the Art Guild of Orange Park\, the Society of Mixed Media Artists and the Jacksonville Watercolor Society. Dee was part of an Abstract Show at the Jacksonville International Airport in 2017 and is currently in a three person show at Southlight Gallery is Jacksonville. Roberts has had notable solo shows at various galleries as well as St Johns Country Day School and the Thrasher Horne Center for the Performing Arts. \nDee was born in Pennsylvania and received a scholarship to the Philadelphia College of Art.
