SUMMARY:CANCELLED – Loving Beethoven Interactive Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT IS CANCELLED UNTIL THE CULTURAL CENTER REOPENS ON MARCH 30.\nIn 2020\, the world will celebrate Ludwig van Beethoven’s 250th birthday anniversary. The Cultural Center at Ponte Vedra Beach\, in partnership with MIMMA (Interactive Music Museum in Malaga\, Spain) is paying tribute to this milestone thanks to the traveling musical installation Loving Beethoven. The interactive music installation will be at the Cultural Center from March 6\, 2020 to May 26\, 2020. \nAt the end of June\, 2019\, Cultural Center Director Donna Guzzo visited the museum in Malaga\, Spain to start discussions with the MIMMA Director\, Miguel Angel Piedrola. After the visit to MIMMA\, Guzzo requested the collaboration with MIMMA to develop a program that will showcase music-related activities and host the exhibit in the United States at the Cultural Center at Ponte Vedra Beach. The interactive nature of the MIMMA exhibits\, with galleries full of musical instruments where the public is encouraged to touch and try\, is one of the traits the Cultural Center is looking to replicate during the exhibit in Florida. \n“Loving Beethoven ties together the Cultural Center’s mission and the Center’s outreach program Sound Connections® Music Therapy perfectly. We are thrilled to be working with Miguel Angel Piedrola and MIMMA on our first collaborative\, international project.”\n– Executive Director Donna Guzzo

SUMMARY:POSTPONED – Cliff Cody
DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED. THE DATE WILL BE UPDATED WHEN NEW INFORMATION IS RELEASED.\nThe Colonial Oak Music Park is pleased to welcome highly regarded independent country recording artist Cliff Cody to the Colonial Oak stage on Saturday\, April 25th.\nLocal singer/ songwriter Davis Loose will open the show. \nA performer with a big voice and a working-class sensibility\, Cliff Cody embraces the classic themes of country music — hard work\, hard times\, broken hearts\, and the occasional glass of whiskey to smooth away life’s rough edges. Making his debut with the 2014 album ‘Homegrown\,’ Cody’s music has a potent classic rock influence to go along with the country archetypes of his melodies and lyrics – while his second long-player\, 2019’s ‘A Mess Like Me\,’ pushes rock guitars and organ into the background for a more traditionalist approach in performance and production. \nA fan of country music since childhood\, Cody began playing and songwriting at age 19 – building a following from Odessa\, Texas to Nashville\, Tennessee\, and Key West\, Florida over the ensuing years. Along the way he has written for & performed with a number of music luminaries\, competed in the nationally televised competition ‘Rising Star’\, as well as becoming accredited as a registered nurse. \nSt. Augustine resident\, Davis Loose\, whose first LP ‘The Next Lonesome Road’ was released in December 2019\, will open up the evening’s festivities with his band\, the Loose Cannons. \nShowtime starts at 7PM\, and admission is $25. Tickets for the event will go on sale on March 1st and can be purchased through Eventbrite.com.

Your guide will share true tales from the history of our Light Station. Tours are offered year round on Friday\, Saturday and Sundays and more days during peak times. Purchase a combo ticket with regular daytime admission and save on this tour. Expect larger groups during peak season and holidays. \nInvestigation Only: See for yourself why we are consistently ranked as one of the most haunted sites in St. Augustine! Investigation Only tours are offered on a more limited basis than the Ghost Tour\, with fewer spaces available at each. Rent readers or bring your own equipment. \nSpace is limited! Purchase tickets online in advance to secure your spot. \nOn a Dark of the Moon Ghost Tour you not only hear spooky stories based on real history in the lighthouse at night\, you also help the Lighthouse investigate our maritime past. Ghost Tours support both maritime archaeology and historic research discoveries at the Museum. Stepping up to shiver down your spine helps save our underwater heritage!
