However\, today one wonders if it might not be possible after all…if we are not vigilant and aware. \nDirector Margaret Kaler has assembled a powerful cast to bring to life this tale of the omni-present Big Brother. DESCRIPTION:Re-enactors dressed as Spanish colonial women will describe the life of a typical woman in St. Augustine during Spanish colonial times and demonstrate how foods from three different cultures (Native American\, African\, and Spanish) combined to create a unique new cuisine in 1740s colonial Spanish Florida. The event will include a display of a Spanish soldier’s equipment pack\, a discussion of the Fort’s role as protector of St. Augustine’s southern approach\, and junior ranger activities.

DESCRIPTION:On the second and fourth Saturdays of each month\, the Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve (GTMNERR) hosts classes for the whole family to learn how to use seine nets to collect various fish and crab species. Visitors will get the chance to pull a seine net through Guana Lake\, collecting species of fish\, crabs and more\, and then learn about the animals and their roles in the habitat. The free event is led by a naturalist and all necessary gear is provided.
