She burns to be both cool and kind\, but doesn’t know yet how to be both at the same time. Fierce sense of right and wrong\, keen sense of ironic humor. Must have dynamic and stylistic range.\nJD – 17. He is darkly charismatic\, compelling\, attractive\, charming on the outside yet very damaged on the inside. Keen smarts and strong inventive comedy. Voice: Strong\, confident belt to at least an Ab\, A preferable; wide emotional range. \nHEATHER CHANDLER – 17. Richest\, hottest\, most magnetic\, cruelest girl in town. Ram’s Dad: Former football player turned suburban Dad\, has never outgrown his glory days in high school. Hates weakness\, but capable of soul-searching when tragedy strikes. Also plays Big Bud Dean: JD’s single Dad. Big jolly personality that barely conceals the enormous rage bubbling just below the surface. Quite possibly a serial bomber. Also plays Coach Ripper: Stalwart\, man’s man; quick to defend his players. Voice: Baritone/Tenor – power Country/Gospel belt to Ab\, higher welcome. NOTE: Sometimes this actor has played Principal Gowan instead of Big Bud/Coach. \nMS. FLEMING / VERONICA’S MOM – 45 to 50. Ms. Fleming: Aging hippie teacher\, still yearning for the day the Age of Aquarius reaches Ohio. Hungry for the spotlight\, resentful of entitled youth. Also plays Veronica’s Mom: easygoing\, distant\, yet capable of laying down the law. Voice: Great belt up to C\, higher always welcome. \nKURT’S DAD / VERONICA’S DAD / PRINCIPAL GOWAN – 30 to 45. Kurt’s Dad: Straight-laced\, very conservative\, also former football player. A simple guy\, not book smart\, you’d be happy to share a beer with him. SUMMARY:Thespian\, Arrested: A Comedic Documentary
DESCRIPTION:Hilarity ensues when Shari\, drama teacher\, is arrested for being a Thespian. This is a comedentary (comedic documentary) of a true and wild story about unjust arrest. \nYou can’t make this stuff up! This is a story that begs to be told not just orally\, or in writing\, but in theatrical form. \nThe events of the play are true\, with just the right amount of artistic license. The story feels like a Seinfeld episode\, but instead of it being “a show about nothing\,” the show is about how being in the wrong place\, at the wrong time\, can lead to dire consequences. However\, be prepared to laugh at verbal\, physical\, and situational comedy! \n“It’s all about the people\,” said playwright Shari Little\, a St. Augustine resident encouraged by friends to write a play about her unjust arrest more than 20 years while taking her drama students to a state Thespian event in Miami.

His songs capture the familiar pulse of everyday experiences in a unique and celebratory manner. His lyrics will reach out to you and hold on for a moment. \nFrom an intimate event in Venice\, CA\, Vance Joy announced to his fans via a global Facebook Live stream\, his biggest headline tour to date\, the “Nation of Two World Tour.” Alongside the massive world tour announce\, the multi-platinum artist surprised fans with another new song and visual\, “Call If You Need Me\,” from his eagerly-awaited sophomore album Nation of Two\, due February 23. Watch/listen to “Call If You Need Me\,” at https://youtu.be/dQjTQFRZsD4. \nVance Joy’s “Nation of Two World Tour” will see the acclaimed Australian singer/songwriter take on some of his biggest stages yet. The North American leg of the tour will get underway April 13th in Berkeley\, CA at the Greek Theatre and includes a stopover at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre on May 8th. \n“Call If You Need Me\,” the fifth and final track unveiled before the Nation of Two album release (Feb 23)\, is the hauntingly beautiful album opener featuring Vance Joy’s trademark visual lyrics\, painting pictures of fluorescent lights and conversations through foggy shower glass. With still two weeks until the release of Nation of Two\, the album has already amassed over 60 million global streams\, accounted for by the four tracks Vance Joy has unveiled throughout the past few months. The Nation of Two campaign launched with massive alternative hit single\, “Lay It on Me\,” and was followed by releases of “Like Gold\,” “We’re Going Home\,” and “Saturday Sun.” A promising fan-favorite\, the bright and uplifting “Saturday Sun” was streamed over one million times in its first five days of release\, and is currently impacting alternative radio stations nationwide. \nVance Joy – who is currently featured on the cover of Rolling Stone Australia – will celebrate his Nation of Two album release week with a run of high-profile national TV performances\, beginning with CBS’ The Late Late Show with James Corden on Tuesday\, February 27th followed by NBC’s Today on Friday\, March 2nd. The March 6th episode of NBC’s Last Call with Carson Daly will feature two previously filmed live performances by Vance Joy from Los Angeles’ Fonda Theatre. \nNation of Two is the follow up to Vance Joy’s critically-acclaimed breakthrough debut album Dream Your Life away\, which recently surpassed one million in consumption in the U.S. alone. The album spawned the 4x Platinum blockbuster hit\, “Riptide” and RIAA Platinum certified “Mess Is Mine.” Dream Your Life Away also featured “Fire and the Flood” and “Georgia\,” which are both now certified Gold. Based on the success of these songs\, Vance Joy was the #1 Most Played artist at Alternative radio in 2015.

SUMMARY:Florida Chamber Music Project presents Mozart & Smetana
DESCRIPTION:The Florida Chamber Music Project is proud to celebrate its 5th year of providing a wonderful repertoire of chamber music for the Northeast Florida region. Although performances by small groups of musicians date back several thousand years\, chamber music as we know it today reached great heights beginning in the early 1600s and continues to thrive in popularity in the 21st century. Often described as music performed in an intimate setting by an ensemble of friends for an audience of friends; chamber music lives on today through our musicians providing enjoyment for listeners of all ages. One of the factors contributing to the unique nature of these performances is the rich repertoire featuring one musician on a part. Within each composition\, the technical skills and musical expression of each player contributes to an intimate musical conversation among friends. \nMay 6th will feature Mozart’s String Quartet in A Major\, K. 464 and Smetana’s String Quartet No. 1 in E minor\, “From My Life”. \nThe 2017-2018 season features popular clarinetist Peter Wright joining the Florida Chamber Music Project for music written for strings and clarinet performing Weber’s Quintet for Clarinet and Strings in B flat. Other concerts include Schubert’s famous Quintet for Piano and Stings\, “The Trout”; a performance of Italian composers as part of The Italian Sojourn weekend experience; and the season concludes with the music of Mozart’s String Quintet No. 1 in c minor. Join the Florida Chamber Music Project for a remarkable fifth season of the finest chamber music at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall. \nAttend the full FCMP Season and purchase your $125.00 Season Pass at http://bit.ly/2u0UbpJ.

SUMMARY:The National
DESCRIPTION:The National live at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre on Saturday\, May 5\, 2018 in the band’s only Florida appearance this summer. Special guest opening act will be Big Thief. \nTickets on sale this Friday\, January 19 at 10am\nTickets:\n$61.00 – Standing Pit\n$51.00 – Level 100 and Level 200\n$41.00 – Level 300 and Obstructed View\nDoors 6:00pm / Show 8:00pm \nFour years have passed since the release of Trouble Will Find Me\, and to the outside world it might have seemed like the members of the National spent that long interim working on everything but new National songs. But in September 2014\, two months before the band headlined the 20\,000-seat O2 Arena in London\, Aaron Dessner (guitar) passed along the first set of musical sketches to Matt Berninger (vocals). “We really didn’t take much of a break\,” says Matt. “We started working on this record the minute we finished touring the last one. The only break we took was from the constant pressure we put on each other.” \n“We didn’t feel like rushing it\,” says Aaron\, who produced Sleep Well Beast. “People thought the National went away\, but we were just working on ideas.” With members now living in five different cities\, the band made an extra effort to get together in the same room – sometimes in studios in upstate New York\, or out in Los Angeles. “We’ve always worked on demos together\,” explains Bryce Dessner (guitar). “But this time we were actually in the same physical space doing it.” “When we all lived in Brooklyn we rarely did these kinds of week-long sessions\,” says Scott Devendorf (bass guitar). “This time we got together for long stretches\, just to mess around and experiment without deadlines or distractions.” \nIn February 2015\, Aaron and Bryce convened for a series of writing sessions in an old church in Hudson\, New York. Then\, in the spring of 2016\, Aaron completed work on his own residential studio\, Long Pond\, in upstate New York\, where most of the album was recorded. “It’s the first time we have had a space of our own where we can keep all our instruments and work on songs any time\, day or night\,” says Bryce. Aaron adds\, “The space was designed specifically for the band to make this album\, with an open plan and no control room so that everyone could be wired up and playing all the time. The idea was to loosen the reigns and formality of our past recording process and allow for experimentation from beginning to end.” Bryan Devendorf (drums) describes it\, “Getting drum sounds in a previously untested room was a seriously fun exercise in trial-and-error learning\, in a group setting. Time disappeared\, the sun set\, and then the massive frog population in Aaron’s pond started singing.” \nThere are songs on Sleep Well Beast\, out now on 4AD Records\, that are instantly recognizable as the National\, but others are much harder to classify. The lyrics are about “trying to come clean about the things you’d rather not\,” says Matt. “Some of it’s about marriage\, some of it’s about my relationship with Aaron and the band\, some of it’s about train tracks and dancing.” Guitar solos appear like never before\, yet on some songs guitars account for only a tiny fraction of the music. “It was important that we genuinely explore new territory and risk falling on our faces\, or not make a record at all\,” explains Aaron. “This album feels complete to me.”
