SUMMARY:Rock Legends Blue Öyster Cult with special guests Mark Farner’s American Band
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, May 22\, The St. Augustine Amphitheatre will welcome rock legends Blue Öyster Cult with special guests Mark Farner’s American Band for a limited-capacity concert with distanced seating. Enhanced safety measures and protocols are in place\, including contactless digital ticketing\, face covering requirements\, and mobile ordering for concessions. Tickets for Blue Öyster Cult with special guest Mark Farner’s American Band go on sale this Friday\, March 12 at 10:00am at The St. Augustine Amphitheatre Box Office and online at Ticketmaster.com. \nFor over four decades\, Blue Öyster Cult has been thrilling fans of intelligent hard rock worldwide with powerful albums loaded with classic songs. Indeed\, the Long Island\, NY based band is revered within the hard rock and heavy metal scene for its pioneering work. Blue Öyster Cult occupies a unique place in rock history as one of very few hard rock/heavy metal bands to earn both genuine mainstream critical acclaim as well as commercial success. \nThe band is often cited as a major influence by other acts such as Metallica\, and BÖC was listed in VH1’s countdown of the greatest hard rock bands of all time. BÖC’s smash hitsinclude three stone-cold classic songs that will waft through the cosmos long after the sun has burned out: The truly haunting “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” from 1976’s Agents of Fortune\, the pummeling “Godzilla” from 1977’s Spectres\, and the hypnotically melodic “Burnin’ for You” from 1981’s Fire of Unknown Origin.\nLegendary all-American frontman and guitarist Mark Farner was the engine that pulled the original Grand Funk Railroad to the top of the charts\, and today he’s a platinum recording artist 30 times over. \nAt age 67\, Farner commands the stage with the same intensity and outpouring of love as he did at 20 during the summer of ’69\, and his fans are still flocking to their captain. The rock patriot’s synergy and open heart come through in epic hits that defined a generation—“I’m Your Captain (Closer to Home)\,” “We’re An American Band\,” a recut of “The Loco-Motion\,” and “Some Kind of Wonderful”— and “rock star” is only one facet of this Michigan-born son’s legacy. Farner is also about as real as they get: He’s a husband\, in his fourth decade of marriage to wife Lesia. He’s a family man with five adult sons. And he’s a caregiver. \nTickets for Blue Öyster Cult with special guests Mark Farner’s American Band go on sale this Friday\, March 12 at 10:00am at The St. Augustine Amphitheatre Box Office and online at Ticketmaster.com. Tickets are sold in pre-configured pods (groupings) ranging from two to eight seats per pod. Each pod is at least six feet from one to the next\, and all seats within the pod must be purchased together. Additionally\, all tickets are digital. The St. Augustine Amphitheatre Box Office will be open on Fridays from 10:00am-6:00pm and Saturdays from 8:30am- 12:30pm\, and will only accept payment via debit or credit card. \nSHOW: Blue Öyster Cult with special guests Mark Farner’s American Band\nVENUE: St. Augustine Amphitheatre\nDATE: Saturday\, May 22\, 2021\nTIME: Doors 6:00pm / Show 7:30pm\nTICKET PRICES: Tickets Ranging from $77.50 – $157.50\nWEBSITE: www.blueoystercult.com; www.markfarner.com; www.theamp.com\nLOCAL CONTACT: Ryan Hall\, Marketing & Promotions Specialist rhall@sjcfl.us / (904) 209-3753

SUMMARY:Rock and Roll Soul Group St. Paul & The Broken Bones
DESCRIPTION:The St. Augustine Amphitheatre\, in partnership with Flying Saucer Presents\, is thrilled to announce that rock and roll soul group St. Paul & The Broken Bones will take the stage at The Amp on Sunday\, May 23\, 2021 for a limited-capacity concert with distanced seating. The powerhouse soul group previously performed at The Amp in 2019 during Sing Out Loud Festival. Enhanced safety measures and protocols are in place\, including contactless digital ticketing\, face covering requirements\, and mobile ordering for concessions. Tickets for St. Paul & The Broken Bones on May 23\, 2021 go on sale this Friday\, February 26 at 10:00am at the venue Box Office or online at Ticketmaster.com. \nBlood is thicker than water\, and it can leave scars. But like it or not\, those in our bloodlines are stuck with us— and us with them—for better or for worse. Paul Janeway understands this conundrum of heritage well. The singer of the Birmingham\, Alabama–based rock and roll soul band St. Paul & The Broken Bones was born and raised in America’s Deep South\, a place where social consciousness can still take a backseat to unsavory traditions and where a family’s expectations sometimes supersede all else. Despite the fierce familial love\, he enjoyed and constantly gave back while growing up—especially to his father and grandfather—from an early age Janeway realized that the way he thought about the world was a little different from those around him\, and he began to seek an outlet from which to share what was in his heart and on his mind. Blessed with a powerful voice\, a magnetism for connecting with people\, and a gift for making music\, he traded in a career in ministry to start his own band. \nSt. Paul & The Broken Bones formed in 2012\, releasing their debut album Half the City in 2014 and its follow up\, 2016’s Sea of Noise\, too much acclaim. Those strong efforts helped place them on the national scene\, and the band worked hard to prove they were no mere retro-soul band—from touring the world relentlessly\, including being selected to open for The Rolling Stones and headlining two nights at the Ryman Auditorium\, to TV appearances including The Late Show with David Letterman\, Jimmy Kimmel Live\, Conan\, Austin City Limits two appearances on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert\, one being the very first episode. \nJaneway’s fearless showmanship\, thoughtful lyrics\, and dedication to his performance soon became the band’s calling card\, and paired with the inventive and skillful direction of co-band leader Jesse Phillips as well as a full eight-man roster comprised of some of the best young instrumentalists in the South\, they soon became a must-see event. Over time\, Janeway has learned the art of balancing expectations and how to reconcile his past with his future\, just as his band have learned how to overcome their perception by pushing against its ceiling. In embracing those things he cannot change\, he has forged ahead as an artist and as a man. And with his band’s new album\, Young Sick Camellia\, Janeway has created a space for St. Paul & The Broken Bones to rival any forward-thinking band making music today\, based on a concept all-too familiar to him: family\, and how we love\nthem despite our differences. \nTickets for St. Paul & The Broken Bones go on sale this Friday\, February 26 at 10:00am at The St. Augustine Amphitheatre Box Office and online at Ticketmaster.com. Tickets are sold in pre-configured pods (groupings) ranging from two to six seats per pod. SUMMARY:Abstract painter Cyndi Horn is Butterfield Garage’s June Featured Artist.
DESCRIPTION:On display will be her newest series of both Cruciform and Minimalist mixed media canvases \nCyndi Horn graduated from Florida State with a degree in graphic design\, most of her career life has ranged from design studios\, advertising agencies and TV broadcast networks\, where she has been recognized on a local and state level with Addy Awards. She painted at a young age for meditation and gratification\, and did not return to fine art until 2014 when she moved from Atlanta to Florida. \nHer design influence provides a strong foundation for her non-objective work. Using color\, line\, shapes\, textures and text in her multi media pieces\, she works intuitively\, allowing her impulses to drive the direction the piece takes. Simplifying and creating a visual rhythm is the underlying esthetic in her work. \nCyndi has become fascinated with using cruciforms as a unifying structure\, in which she divides the canvas into active and calm areas. The intersecting crossovers and adjoining elements captivates the viewers imagination. Her minimalism paintings are stripped down simple composistions that evoke thru color or shape an expansive\, restful moment. Cyndi will be in the gallery all day Sat. June 19 to discuss her work. \nCyndi is a member of SOMMA\, Society of Mixed Media Artists\, and has won several awards in the groups exhibits. SUMMARY:Rock & Roll Supergroup Sammy Hagar & The Circle
DESCRIPTION:The St. Augustine Amphitheatre is thrilled to announce that rock & roll supergroup Sammy Hagar & The Circle will return to The Amp for two nights on Tuesday\, June 1 and Wednesday\, June 2\, 2021 for a limited-capacity concert with distanced seating. Enhanced safety measures and protocols are in place\, including contactless digital ticketing\, face covering requirements\, and mobile ordering for concessions. Tickets for Sammy Hagar & The Circle go on sale Friday\, April 9 at 12:00pm at the venue Box Office or online at Ticketmaster.com. \nFor almost forty years\, Sammy Hagar has been one of rock music’s most dynamic and prolific artists. From breaking into the industry with the seminal hard rock band Montrose to his multiplatinum solo career to his ride as the front man of Van Halen\, the “Red Rocker” has set the tone for some of the greatest rock anthems ever written with songs like “I Can’t Drive 55\,” “Right Now\,” and “Why Can’t This Be Love.” He’s earned the highest respect of the music industry with a Grammy Award and induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame alongside Van Halen and is currently on his fourth platinum run with the supergroup Chickenfoot. Along his journey\, Hagar has also become a dedicated philanthropist\, a New York Times best-selling author and auspicious entrepreneur. \nFormed in 2014\, the acclaimed supergroup featuring Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees Sammy Hagar and bassist Michael Anthony\, drummer Jason Bonham and guitarist Vic Johnson\, quickly established themselves as one of the most emphatic and exciting live acts on tour today\, seamlessly ripping through career-spanning hits from Montrose\, Van Halen\, Sammy Hagar and The Waboritas and Led Zeppelin. Their debut album\, Space Between\, was released in 2019 and entered the U.S. Billboard 200 chart at #4and debuted at #1 on four Billboard charts including: #1 -Top Album Sales\, #1 -Top Rock Albums\, #1 -Hard Rock Albums and #1 –\nIndependent Albums. The band toured throughout 2019 in support of the album\, earning universal praise from fans and critics alike. \nThe Circle kicked off 2021 with the release of Lockdown 2020\, an album collection of their massively popular Lockdown Sessions featuring raw and raucous compact covers of classic hits that they’d jammed to backstage but never planned to record. Recorded remotely by each band member during the Covid-19 stay-at-homes\, the digital music videos which include hits like The Who’s “Won‘t Get Fooled Again\,” Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds\, “AC/DC\, “Whole Lotta Rosie” and David Bowie’s “Heroes” had already reached an online audience of more than 30 million before the album’s release. \nTickets for Sammy Hagar & The Circle go on sale Friday\, April 9 at 12:00pm at The St. Augustine Amphitheatre Box Office and online at Ticketmaster.com. Tickets are sold in pre-configured pods (groupings) ranging from two to six seats per pod.
