Based on the popular comic strip by Harold\nGray\, Annie has become a worldwide phenomenon and was the winner of seven Tony Awards\, including\, “Best Musical”. Show times are 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available at saintaugustineballet.com\, with social distanced seating.    \nYoung Dorothy Gale\, played by local high school student Jolynne Waldner\, and her dog Toto are swept away from their Kansas farm and plopped down in an otherworldly place called Oz. She specialized in landscapes and also produced over 600 portraits\, many of historical figures. Troemel was an honored Fellow of the Royal Society of Art\, London. Her works were shown in prestigious museums across the U.S. and throughout Florida\, including the Mennello Museum of American Art\, a subsidiary of the Smithsonian\, which purchased five of her paintings in 2007. She was included in the World’s Who’s Who of Women and The Directory of American Portrait Artists.\nA champion of the arts\, Troemel founded the Winter Haven Ridge Art Association in 1950\, the PAStA Art Gallery in St. Augustine\, and served on the Florida Arts Group Board (FLAG). She spearheaded St. Augustine’s First Friday Art Walks and funded the Best in Show Award that continues to be presented monthly at the St. Augustine Art Association. Fort Mose is situated along the Atlantic Flyway and boasts several natural environments where birds thrive. You can explore an estuarine tidal marsh\, a maritime hammock\, and “Rookery Island\,” which is home to many nesting species in the spring. \nGuests are encouraged to dress for the weather (this is Florida after all!) and bring binoculars\, water\, comfortable walking shoes\, and a field guide if they have one. \nThe event is free\, but there is a $2 per vehicle entrance fee to the Visitors Center.

DESCRIPTION:On the Second Saturday of every month\, Washington Oaks Gardens State Park hosts a Plant Sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The park offers a variety of rare and beautiful plants for sale\, as well as an activity at 11:00 a.m. \nGuests can view the beauty of the state park while also enjoying the sale.  The event is hosted by the Friends of Washington Oaks Gardens State Park\, a community-based not-for-profit organization whose mission is to preserve\, protect\, promote\, and provide interpretation at Washington Oaks Gardens and Faver-Dykes State Park. \nAdmission to this event is free. However\, regular park entrance fees apply $5 per vehicle with up to eight people\, $4 for a single-occupant vehicle\, and $2 for pedestrians/bicyclists. \nWhere: Washington Oaks Gardens State Park is located two miles south of Marineland off A1A South\, at 6400 N. All artwork in the exhibition will be offered for sale with proceeds supporting the St. Augustine Art Association Jean Wagner Troemel Award in perpetuity. The exhibit will be on display at the St. Augustine Art Association starting July 20th\, with an Art Auction ($ reservations required) and running through August 25\, 2019. \nAbout the Artist\nBorn in Alma\, Michigan in 1921\, Jean Wagner Troemel was a versatile and prolific artist whose prized works are included in collections worldwide. She specialized in landscapes and also produced over 600 portraits\, many of historical figures. Troemel was an honored Fellow of the Royal Society of Art\, London. Her works were shown in prestigious museums across the U.S. and throughout Florida\, including the Mennello Museum of American Art\, a subsidiary of the Smithsonian\, which purchased five of her paintings in 2007. She was included in the World’s Who’s Who of Women and The Directory of American Portrait Artists.\nA champion of the arts\, Troemel founded the Winter Haven Ridge Art Association in 1950\, the PAStA Art Gallery in St. Augustine\, and served on the Florida Arts Group Board (FLAG). She spearheaded St. Augustine’s First Friday Art Walks and funded the Best in Show Award that continues to be presented monthly at the St. Augustine Art Association. She specialized in landscapes and also produced over 600 portraits\, many of historical figures. Troemel was an honored Fellow of the Royal Society of Art\, London. Her works were shown in prestigious museums across the U.S. and throughout Florida\, including the Mennello Museum of American Art\, a subsidiary of the Smithsonian\, which purchased five of her paintings in 2007. She was included in the World’s Who’s Who of Women and The Directory of American Portrait Artists.\nA champion of the arts\, Troemel founded the Winter Haven Ridge Art Association in 1950\, the PAStA Art Gallery in St. Augustine\, and served on the Florida Arts Group Board (FLAG). She spearheaded St. Augustine’s First Friday Art Walks and funded the Best in Show Award that continues to be presented monthly at the St. Augustine Art Association.
