SUMMARY:Nights of Lights
DESCRIPTION:It draws thousands of people to the city every year\, but even as a local\, Nights of Lights is not something you want to miss out on. Light up night happens on November 17 with music in the Plaza de la Constitucion and the proverbial “flipping of the switch” by city officials. Any spot downtown will give you a beautiful view of the sudden illumination of 2 million white lights

SUMMARY:1984
DESCRIPTION:The story of Winston Smith\, a cog in the giant machine state of Oceania… physically and mentally under the ever-present eye of Big Brother. \nACT’s first production of the 2018-2019 season is the iconic 1984 adapted by Robert Owens\, Wilton E. Hall\, Jr.\, and William A. Miles\, Jr. Based on the iconic novel by George Orwell\, 1984 is a provocative adaptation of one of the most prescient works of literature of the last century. \nFor those who read Orwell’s novel in school\, the society portrayed was absolutely unbelievable. However\, today one wonders if it might not be possible after all…if we are not vigilant and aware. \nDirector Margaret Kaler has assembled a powerful cast to bring to life this tale of the omni-present Big Brother. They are: Jon Beshara\, Kathryn Masters\, Jennifer Latka\, Guy Tillis\, Katie Timoney\, Natalie Beltrami\, Shari Little\, David Williams\, and Shelby Roy. \nThe production will have six performances over two weekends on October 26\, 27\, 28 and November 2\, 3\, 4 at the Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center at 102 ML King Ave.\, downtown St. Augustine. The Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30pm\, Sunday matinees are at 2:00pm. Tickets are $20 and are available online at http://www.aclassictheatre.org/tickets. Telephone reservations: Jan at 904-501-9053 \nQuestions?
