The Leadership St. Johns Class of 2020 project continues its commitment to raise funds and help the Coalition’s renovations for transitional housing. Over the past months\, the COVID-19 pandemic not only changed the way we do business\, but it has also impacted many lives. People are struggling like never before. The class recognizes this urgent need and is expanding its support for HCES\, a vital community service provider. \nThanks to cash donations from Herbie Wiles (Received before COVID-19)\, Community Foundation of Northeast Florida\, St. Johns County Board of Realtors\, cash donation collected by LSJ Classmate Nikki Pontello\, Ancient City Game Fish Association\, and St. Johns Title\, we have already raised $5\,750. \nYou have 3 ways to help us achieve our class goal of raising at least $15\,000 for the coalition on or before May 29! \n• Donate NOW online\, http://homelesscoalitionstjohns.com/donate/\n• Buy an auction item from our LIVE event May 29th between 9AM and 5PM @SJCChamber\n• Donate cleaning supplies directly to the coalition. Presented by Terra Freeman\, US/IFAS Extension\, SJC Horticulture Agent. Stormwater ponds play a valuable role in capturing runoff from impervious surfaces to abate flooding.  Learn how you can improve the ecosystem services they provide with appropriate plantings to improve filtration of pollutants while increasing their aesthetic appeal.\n1pm – Vermiculture. Rhythm for the River will feature live music by some of the best of the local music scene – including Snake Blood Remedy\, the Sand Fleas\, Aslyn and the Naysayers\, and the experimental folk band and earth activists Holy River (formerly known as Lobo Marino). You’ll also get to enjoy raffles\, donation chair massage\, local art\, food trucks\, drinks\, and lots more! \nCurrent Riverkeeper since 2017\, Jen Lomberk is a Florida native and licensed attorney devoted to protecting Florida’s natural wonders. Jen Lomberk will speak about the Riverkeepers’ mission. This event aims to bring the community together in a fun\, creative\, and educational way for a good cause. \nA $5-$30 donation is suggested.

DESCRIPTION:On the 29th day of the leap year\, 2020\, guests will be invited to come through the gates of the invitation only venue\, Fantasy Farms\, for a whimsical cocktail party. The evening will begin with a cocktail hour and heavy hors d’oeuvres. Local restaurants and mixologists will have their best hand crafted whimsical desserts and cocktails for guests to sample and vote for their favorites. After sampling the best whimsical desserts and cocktails\, guests can enjoy live entertainment\, bid on silent auction items\, and explore Fantasy Farms’ vast property\, which includes beautiful rescue animals\, classic cars\, and kitschy artifacts. Proceeds from Tipsy Tea will benefit Fostering Connections St. Johns’ leadership programs and a college scholarship for youth transitioning out of foster care.

At the Grand Tasting guests will be able to sample more than 100 authentic Spanish wines. DESCRIPTION:Chocolate and Beyond\, a celebration of chocolate\, desserts\, and other delectable culinary treats\, will be held on Sat.\, Feb. 29 from 2 – 4 p.m. at First Coast Technical College\, CHARACTER COUNTS! Conference Center in St. Augustine.
