DESCRIPTION:SurfQuest empowers people with disabilities by providing adaptive surfing instruction and therapeutic educational programs on water recreation and enriches lives by assisting families to access the beach and ocean together in a barrier-free environment. They act as an advocate for accessibility to the water that will allow people with limited mobility to reach the beach (i.e. wheelchairs\, assisted devices\, strollers\, etc.).  \nThis monthly beach day is free and open for all ages and disabilities.  \nThey provide adaptive equipment with education and training for the advancement of adaptive surfing. \n

DESCRIPTION:The historic Tolomato Cemetery hosts guided tours of the grounds on the third Saturday of every month from 11 am to 3 pm. The grounds were in use as a cemetery from the 18th century until 1864 and is the final resting place to some 1\,000 St. Augustinians. \nThis guided tour encourages attendees to come and learn about the rich history of the cemetery\, and those from an array of cultures who rest there. The opening reception of the exhibit as well as an awards ceremony will take place during October’s First Friday Art Walk\, and the exhibit will be on display throughout the month.  \nAdmission to the exhibit is free and open to the public.

DESCRIPTION:On the third Thursday of every month running from March to October of 2019\, the West African Drum Circles of Saint. Augustine comes together at the St. Augustine Pier. This event provides guests with a vibrant evening of music and community. \nAll guests are encouraged to participate and play on an instrument or percussion of their choice. The group provides additional drums and handheld instruments for guests to use\, and musicians\, dancers\, and spectators are all welcome. DESCRIPTION:Carolina Hospital\, professor at Miami Dade College\, is a novelist\, poet\, and essayist. She is the author of The Child of Exile\, and Key West Nights & Other Aftershocks. Most recently\, her work appeared in the Norton Anthology of Latino Literature. \n\n\nMarisella Veiga writes in various genres and teaches writing as well as Cuban home cooking.  Her first book is We Carry Our Homes with Us:  a Cuban American Memoir (Minnesota Historical Society Press 2016). Her short fiction has been widely anthologized\, most recently in Sudden Fiction Latino: Short-Short Stories from the United States and Latin America.  \nThis event is free and open to the public\, for more information email KBradley@flagler.edu

Come to the Main Library for an unbiased and honest critique of your work\, provided by members of the St. Augustine Art Critique Group.\nThe purpose of the St Augustine’s Art Critique Group is to help artists learn and improve their skills. Improvement occurs through self-critique and constructive group reflection of paintings participants bring for review.
