This will be the 347th anniversary\, and visitors will be given the opportunity to learn about the history of the fort through reenactments and historical demonstrations. According to her Tale Tellers of St. Augustine bio\, it states: \nKathy is a recently transplanted Illinoisan. After 30 years of serving in public and private schools as a library/media specialist and sometimes social studies teacher\, she gave up cold weather and snow for sunshine and ocean breezes. It was not a hard choice. Now retired she is focusing on the favorite part of her former career: storytelling. Kathy is also learning more about her favorite hobbies\, photography and graphic arts. \nRetired educator and storyteller and a fan of the CUBS! This event will be celebrating the traditional performances of the famous riding schools in Vienna and Spain. The show has been recreated by Riding Master René Gasser\, whose family has trained these horses for seven generations. \nThe Royal Horses of Europe are world-famous for their performances that feature the Lipizzaner Stallions\, the Spanish Andalusian\, and Friesian horses\, as well as the recently added quarter horse. The maneuvers executed by horse and rider show off the beauty and athleticism of the horses and the training skills of the riders. \nGasser’s recent productions in Australia have included “Lipizzaners with the Stars\,” “Equestra\,” and “The Horseman from Snowy River.” His new show\, The Gala of The Royal Horses\, will include “Airs Above the Ground\,” the “Arts of Garrocha\,” and “Roman Riding.” \nAdmission:  \nGeneral admission prices are $40 for adults\, $30 for seniors\, and $15 for children. \nVIP tickets\, which include access to an open-seating VIP area and a meet and greet with performers and horses after the show\, are available for $50 for adults 13 and over and $25 for kids ages 4-12. \n

It is also the 200th anniversary of Silent Night. We will include the original version in this program\, which was altered slightly early on into the tune we know today. As we aspire to perform music of living composers\, this program includes the music of Z Randall Stroope\, Michael Engelhardt\, and Dr. Peter Mathews. We are excited to premiere our commissioned piece\, written for the chorus by Dr. Mathews\, entitled “What Sweeter Music.”
