SUMMARY:Colonial Night Watch
DESCRIPTION:This day-long annual event invites attendees to re-witness history as our city re-creates the Night Watches that took place in garrison towns back in 1739. It is said that back then\, any citizen who remained on the streets after the city gates were locked were required to carry a light so they could be seen and identified by the Night Watch. The day’s activities will begin with firearm demonstrations at the Castillo followed by reenactments at The Colonial Quarter. The Night Watch procession will begin at 7 pm with a cannon firing. The procession will then lead to a parade in which soldiers and militia can be found singing Christmas Carols for the holiday season. \nThis event is free and open to the public\, so don’t miss out!

DESCRIPTION:The Castillo’s annual 1740 Siege Night event\, “Enemy at the Gates\,” is back again for another spectacular evening.  This special tour includes live history demonstrations presenting The Fort as it would have been under the 1740 British siege many years ago. The tours will give visitors a look inside different stations of the monument and reenactors will be demonstrating the preparation that soldiers took as they prepared for the attack by British General\, James Oglethorpe. SUMMARY:Confessions of the Corazon:  A Night of Storytelling
DESCRIPTION:“Confessions of the Corazon” returns to the Corazon Cinema and Cafe with Gabriella Saho as our featured storyteller\, on September 26th. David Fussell will be our special guest host. \nGabriella is a creative service specialist. She recycles\, resales\, repairs\, renovates\, restores\, removes\, invents\, improves and instructs materials into art. \nAccording to his Tale Tellers of St. Augustine bio\, it states: “David Fussell\, a fifth generation Florida Cracker and fifth generation Wiregrass Georgia Cracker\, tells yarns and rhythms of Cracker life through personal experiences and learned lore of Florida’s past. With wit\, wisdom\, humor\, and laughter the Cracker South comes alive; fifty years of storytelling from the front porch.” \nThe event is all ages and is $5 (cash only) for each person. There is room for 10 storytellers each time and it is first come\, first served. Sign up by purchasing one item and there are free refills on most beverages. Sign up at 5:00 p.m. and the stories begin at 5:30 p.m. Each storyteller receives six to eight minutes of stage time. The featured storyteller gets 10 minutes of stage time and 50% of the proceeds from the door. \nAfter each event\, the current featured storyteller draws the name for the following month’s storyteller. \nIf you are an artist\, bring in your works and sell them. Let’s hear your elevator pitch. “Confessions” is perfect for all artists\, authors\, comedians\, writers\, poets\, influencers\, content creators\, entrepreneurs\, filmmakers\, actors\, storytellers\, etc. \nWe look forward to seeing you at the event and hearing your stories. DESCRIPTION:SurfQuest empowers people with disabilities by providing adaptive surfing instruction and therapeutic educational programs on water recreation and enriches lives by assisting families to access the beach and ocean together in a barrier-free environment. They act as an advocate for accessibility to the water that will allow people with limited mobility to reach the beach (i.e. wheelchairs\, assisted devices\, strollers\, etc.).  \nThis monthly beach day is free and open for all ages and disabilities.  \nThey provide adaptive equipment with education and training for the advancement of adaptive surfing. \n
