DESCRIPTION:In partnership with Living History\, the annual heritage event of the Founding of the Castillo de San Marcos will mark the historical event that took place in 1672. This will be the 347th anniversary\, and visitors will be given the opportunity to learn about the history of the fort through reenactments and historical demonstrations. National Park Service staff and volunteers as well as living history guides will offer opportunities for visitors to learn more about this undefeated fortress.  \nAdmission to the Castillo is $15 for adults.  \n

There is room for 10 storytellers each time and it is first come\, first served. Sign up by purchasing one item and there are free refills on most beverages. Sign up at 5:00 p.m. and the stories begin at 5:30 p.m. Each storyteller receives six to eight minutes of stage time. The featured storyteller gets 10 minutes of stage time and 50% of the proceeds from the door. \nAfter each event\, the current featured storyteller draws the name for the following month’s storyteller. \nIf you are an artist\, bring in your works and sell them. Runners will enjoy a 5K to the Atlantic Ocean\, facing a treacherous climb over the Vilano Bridge as they flee from the Authentic Old Jail. If you don’t want to run\, be a part of the team\, enjoy the fruits of no labor\, and donate at the 0.0! The 0.0 will also feature a costume contest\, live entertainment\, trick-or-treating for kids\, and some “genuine prison food\,” including cornbread\, baked beans\, grits and beer. \n
