DESCRIPTION:THE CARAVACA CROSS HAS BEEN STOLEN!!! \nIn 2002\, during an archaeological investigation of the property of the Ximenez-Fatio House Museum\, a fascinating discovery was made…a 17th century caravaca cross. The caravaca cross was first produced to celebrate the end of the Black Death in Europe. \nBelieved to be the only example of a caravaca cross to be found in North America\, the cross is kept under lock and key\, but it has disappeared! \nAuthorities have been called\, and they believe the culprit and the cross are still somewhere within the museum. Help us discover the identity of the thief\, in which room\, and where in the room\, they hid the cross. \nStarting tonight at 6:30pm\, and every Thursday\, Friday and Saturday nights going forward\, we will be hosting Heist at the Museum. DESCRIPTION:Explore and learn about the estuarine habitat of Salt Run and the maritime hammocks as well as the amazing array of wildlife and plants that are indigenous to the various ecosystems of Anastasia State Park as you wander the stunning local shoreline. The two-hour walks starts at the shoreline\, heads up through the dunes\, on the boardwalk over the salt marsh\, and finishes along Salt Run. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring binoculars\, a camera\, drinking water\, bug spray\, and sunscreen. \nThe event is free with park admission.

DESCRIPTION:Calling amateur bird lovers and birding experts alike! Led by a park volunteer and naturalist\, the walk leads guests along the beaches\, boardwalk\, and nature trails of the state park. Anastasia Park boasts a diverse variety of shore birds\, marsh birds\, and hammock birds\, as well as migratory birds in the winter months that cannot be seen any other time of the year. Guests are encouraged to dress for the weather and bring binoculars\, water\, and walking shoes. The walk will meet at the Island Beach Shop & Grill Pavilion. \nThe walk is free with park admission. DESCRIPTION:Krewe Kaptain tickets include reserved table seating with table service\, parking  and champagne/wine (only ages 21+ up) \nJacksonville Children’s Chorus (JCC) partners with local businesses and music groups to host a Mardi Gras Party to benefit the JCC. The Mardi Gras Party will include a DJ\, dancing\, photo booth\, prizes\, Cajun-inspired food\, desserts\, and beverages. Silent and live auctions will also be held. \nGuests will be dazzled throughout the night by performances by aerialist\, and entertainment from Bittersweet Studios\, Jacksonville’s premier adult vocal ensemble\, Voices of Jacksonville\, and The Chorus’ top performance group\, the Touring Choir. \nDarren Dailey\, President and Executive Director of the Jacksonville Children’s Chorus said\, “The success of last year’s event was beyond expectations! I am excited to bring this fun and eclectic party back to the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall to celebrate our 25th Anniversary season. This event is not only on its way to becoming the area’s largest Mardi Gras party\, but it goes to support the hundreds of local children that benefit from our programming every year\, so I hope that the community joins us in celebrating and Laissez les bon temps rouler!” \nThe Jacksonville Children’s Chorus was founded in 1995 by then Jacksonville University President\, Dr. Francis B. Kinne to fill a need for a children’s music program in Northeast Florida. Since its inception\, the group has grown from 16 voices to serving nearly 1\,000 young singers every year. Because music education is crucial to a child’s development\, the JCC offers partial or full scholarship to any child who wishes to sing\, regardless of the family’s ability to pay. The scholarship program is funded solely through donations and ensures diversity in membership. The JCC has developed into one of Jacksonville’s most important providers of music education\, enriching the lives of singers and audiences across the region.

SUMMARY:Bird Walk at Anastasia State Park
DESCRIPTION:Calling amateur bird lovers and birding experts alike! Led by a park volunteer and naturalist\, the walk leads guests along the beaches\, boardwalk\, and nature trails of the state park. Anastasia Park boasts a diverse variety of shore birds\, marsh birds\, and hammock birds\, as well as migratory birds in the winter months that cannot be seen any other time of the year. Guests are encouraged to dress for the weather and bring binoculars\, water\, and walking shoes. The walk will meet at the Island Beach Shop & Grill Pavilion. \nThe walk is free with park admission. This event is weather permitting and subject to cancellation.
