DESCRIPTION:The historic Tolomato Cemetery hosts guided tours of the grounds on the third Saturday of every month from 11 am to 3 pm. The grounds were in use as a cemetery from the 18th century until 1864 and is the final resting place to some 1\,000 St. Augustinians. \nThis guided tour encourages attendees to come and learn about the rich history of the cemetery\, and those from an array of cultures who rest there. Some including Spanish\, Cuban\, Greek\, Minorcan\, African\, Irish\, and Haitian. This event is an opportunity to learn about the true stories of the people\, as well as the tales of our oldest city. \nAdmission is free. \n

DESCRIPTION:On the first Friday of each month\, Washington Oaks Gardens State Park hosts a Garden Walk beginning at 10 a.m. The 45-minute walk is led by a park ranger and will educate guests on the history and variety of the beautiful formal gardens nestled within the maritime hammock of the park. \nFees for the event are listed below: \n$5 per vehicle with up to eight people\, $4 for a single-occupant vehicle\, and $2 for pedestrians/bicyclists. \n

DESCRIPTION:On the first Saturday of every month\, from 9-11am\, the Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve (GTMNERR) hosts a Guided Exploration Hike\, where attendees can learn about the cultural history of the Guana Peninsula\, as well as the natural ecosystem of the Reserve. \nA GTM naturalist will lead the hike and teach about the peninsula’s 5\,000 years of human history\, including how native peoples made use of the estuarine resources\, what European plantation life was like\, and current efforts to save those resources. \nThe hike is free\, but there is a $3 per vehicle parking fee at the reserve. \nPlease call (904) 823-4500 or visit here to reserve a spot on the tour. \n

DESCRIPTION:On the third Saturday of every month\, the Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve hosts a guided walking tour at Guana South Beach from 9 to 11 am.  This walking tour is a two-hour long hike and participants will learn about the various species of life that call the area home. \nAfter the tour\, guests can return to the visitor center\, continue to hike the nearby trails or go to the beach. \nAdmission is free\, but parking is $3 \nPlease note\, you must register for a spot in the tour on their website.
