DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED UNTIL THE LIGHTNER MUSEUM REOPENS.\nA Lightner Museum curator conducts monthly tours featuring unique and special treasures of the museum. The tours are the first Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m. and offer guests an intimate encounter with a select few of the Lightner’s eclectic relics. Get an insider’s view of the museum’s secrets. \nTours are included in the price of admission and will begin in the front lobby of the museum. Admission is $15 for adults\, $12 for active duty military and college students\, $8 for youth ages 12-17 and free for youth ages 11 and under. Reservations are required.

DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT IS CANCELLED UNTIL THE CULTURAL CENTER REOPENS ON MARCH 30.\nIn 2020\, the world will celebrate Ludwig van Beethoven’s 250th birthday anniversary. The Cultural Center at Ponte Vedra Beach\, in partnership with MIMMA (Interactive Music Museum in Malaga\, Spain) is paying tribute to this milestone thanks to the traveling musical installation Loving Beethoven. The interactive music installation will be at the Cultural Center from March 6\, 2020 to May 26\, 2020. \nAt the end of June\, 2019\, Cultural Center Director Donna Guzzo visited the museum in Malaga\, Spain to start discussions with the MIMMA Director\, Miguel Angel Piedrola. After the visit to MIMMA\, Guzzo requested the collaboration with MIMMA to develop a program that will showcase music-related activities and host the exhibit in the United States at the Cultural Center at Ponte Vedra Beach. The interactive nature of the MIMMA exhibits\, with galleries full of musical instruments where the public is encouraged to touch and try\, is one of the traits the Cultural Center is looking to replicate during the exhibit in Florida. \n“Loving Beethoven ties together the Cultural Center’s mission and the Center’s outreach program Sound Connections® Music Therapy perfectly.
