DESCRIPTION:On the third Saturday of every month\, the Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve hosts a guided walking tour at Guana South Beach from 9 to 11 am.  This walking tour is a two-hour long hike and participants will learn about the various species of life that call the area home. \nAfter the tour\, guests can return to the visitor center\, continue to hike the nearby trails or go to the beach. \nAdmission is free\, but parking is $3 \nPlease note\, you must register for a spot in the tour on their website.

This event is weather permitting and subject to cancellation. \nPark admission is $8 per vehicle (limit 8 people)\, $4 per single-occupant vehicle\, and $2 for pedestrians\, bicyclists\, and extra passengers.

DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT IS CANCELLED UNTIL THE CULTURAL CENTER REOPENS ON MARCH 30.\nIn 2020\, the world will celebrate Ludwig van Beethoven’s 250th birthday anniversary. The Cultural Center at Ponte Vedra Beach\, in partnership with MIMMA (Interactive Music Museum in Malaga\, Spain) is paying tribute to this milestone thanks to the traveling musical installation Loving Beethoven. The interactive music installation will be at the Cultural Center from March 6\, 2020 to May 26\, 2020. \nAt the end of June\, 2019\, Cultural Center Director Donna Guzzo visited the museum in Malaga\, Spain to start discussions with the MIMMA Director\, Miguel Angel Piedrola. After the visit to MIMMA\, Guzzo requested the collaboration with MIMMA to develop a program that will showcase music-related activities and host the exhibit in the United States at the Cultural Center at Ponte Vedra Beach. The interactive nature of the MIMMA exhibits\, with galleries full of musical instruments where the public is encouraged to touch and try\, is one of the traits the Cultural Center is looking to replicate during the exhibit in Florida. \n“Loving Beethoven ties together the Cultural Center’s mission and the Center’s outreach program Sound Connections® Music Therapy perfectly. DESCRIPTION:The annual Pellicer Creek Raid gives visitors a unique view into military life in 1864. Taking place over two days\, the historic demonstrations will include Civil War battle reenactments and military parades\, as well as an authentic re-creation of a Civil War encampment. Reenactors will tell stories of the lives of soldiers in Florida as visitors wander through the encampment re-creation. Vendors in period dress will be selling historical clothing\, baked goods\, and lots more. There will also be a Ladies’ Tea formal ball as well as a new gift shop. \nTickets are $5. The grounds were in use as a cemetery from the 18th century until 1864 and is the final resting place to some 1\,000 St. Augustinians. \nThis guided tour encourages attendees to come and learn about the rich history of the cemetery\, and those from an array of cultures who rest there. Some including Spanish\, Cuban\, Greek\, Minorcan\, African\, Irish\, and Haitian. This event is an opportunity to learn about the true stories of the people\, as well as the tales of our oldest city. \nAdmission is free. \n
