SUMMARY:First Friday Garden Walk
DESCRIPTION:On the first Friday of each month\, Washington Oaks Gardens State Park hosts a Garden Walk beginning at 10 a.m. The 45-minute walk is led by a park ranger and will educate guests on the history and variety of the beautiful formal gardens nestled within the maritime hammock of the park. \nFees for the event are listed below: \n$5 per vehicle with up to eight people\, $4 for a single-occupant vehicle\, and $2 for pedestrians/bicyclists. \n

SUMMARY:AARP Smart Driver™ Course
DESCRIPTION:REGISTRATION REQUIRED. The AARP Smart Driver™ course is recognized by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles as an approved course to boost safety awareness\, refresh and improve driving skills\, and minimize crash risks for drivers aged 50 and older. Attendees who elect to purchase the class materials and the certificate of completion may be eligible for an insurance discount. Please check with your automobile insurance company for further details. \nThis is a full day class with a break for lunch. Please bring your own beverages\, coffee\, snacks\, and bag lunch. Alternately\, there are several restaurants in walking and driving distance from the library. \nIt is free to sit in on the class without a guidebook or certificate of completion. It costs $15 for AARP members or $20 for non-members to receive course material and the certificate of completion. Please bring your driver’s license and AARP membership card. Cash\, personal check\, or money order only. No debit or credit cards. \nTo register\, please call the Main Library at 904.827.6940.
