DESCRIPTION:The Art Galleries of Saint Augustine founded and sponsors the award-winning First Friday Art Walk event on the first Friday of every month. Galleries open their doors from 5-9pm\, offering new art exhibits and lively receptions to the public. Start your free self-guided tour at any of the Art Galleries of Saint Augustine galleries. Most galleries are within close walking distance to each other; some are just a short ride away. Hop aboard the free Art Walk trains and trolleys that run throughout downtown. \nFeast on great arts & eats and the sounds of live music—rain or shine! For the late-nighters\, the celebration continues with “after parties” at area clubs and restaurants. Parking locations are shown on the map. Parking after 5pm is free except at the Historic Parking Garage. \nFrom 6-9pm\, Ripley’s Red Sightseeing Trains and The Old Town Trolleys provide free transportation during the Art Walk. The shuttles run every 20-30 minutes on a continuous loop (see map)\, allowing easy access to most of the downtown member galleries. DESCRIPTION:Poetry and Poetry Lovers Will Gather Online Via Zoom. The Ancient City Poets will host an open mic reading open to all on Sunday\, May 31st from 3:00 to 4:30 online via zoom. Poets of all skill levels are offered an opportunity to share their poems with a loving and supportive audience. \nDuring this time of social distancing\, the St. Augustine poetry community has moved to an online platform to share their written words. The March online gathering attracted readers from South Florida\, Jacksonville\, and St. Augustine. The April National Poetry Month gathering was through the roof and filled with truth. We all can’t wait to be able to gather again in the flesh. \nTopic: Mother Of All Poetry Readings\nTime: May 31st\, 2020 02:30 PM Eastern Time (US and Canada) \nThe open mic will start at 3:00 pm. At that time\, the host will ask everyone who is logged on if they would like to be on the reading list. Readers will be called to the “podium” in the order their names appear on the list. The interactive music installation will be at the Cultural Center from March 6\, 2020 to May 26\, 2020. \nAt the end of June\, 2019\, Cultural Center Director Donna Guzzo visited the museum in Malaga\, Spain to start discussions with the MIMMA Director\, Miguel Angel Piedrola. After the visit to MIMMA\, Guzzo requested the collaboration with MIMMA to develop a program that will showcase music-related activities and host the exhibit in the United States at the Cultural Center at Ponte Vedra Beach.
