SUMMARY:From Asia to the Americas: the Art of Jean Wagner Troemel
DESCRIPTION:Take an extraordinary journey through the art and travels of Jean Wagner Troemel! Selections include original oils\, watercolors\, alkyds\, and mono prints representing Jean’s travels and adaptations of artistic movements. All artwork in the exhibition will be offered for sale with proceeds supporting the St. Augustine Art Association Jean Wagner Troemel Award in perpetuity. The exhibit will be on display at the St. Augustine Art Association starting July 20th\, with an Art Auction ($ reservations required) and running through August 25\, 2019. \nAbout the Artist\nBorn in Alma\, Michigan in 1921\, Jean Wagner Troemel was a versatile and prolific artist whose prized works are included in collections worldwide. She specialized in landscapes and also produced over 600 portraits\, many of historical figures. Troemel was an honored Fellow of the Royal Society of Art\, London. Her works were shown in prestigious museums across the U.S. and throughout Florida\, including the Mennello Museum of American Art\, a subsidiary of the Smithsonian\, which purchased five of her paintings in 2007. She was included in the World’s Who’s Who of Women and The Directory of American Portrait Artists.\nA champion of the arts\, Troemel founded the Winter Haven Ridge Art Association in 1950\, the PAStA Art Gallery in St. Augustine\, and served on the Florida Arts Group Board (FLAG). She spearheaded St. Augustine’s First Friday Art Walks and funded the Best in Show Award that continues to be presented monthly at the St. Augustine Art Association. Jean Wagner Troemel passed away on January 18\, 2018\, leaving behind an enduring and inspiring legacy of art. \nGALLERY HOURS: Tuesday through Saturday\, 12pm-4pm; Sunday 2pm-5pm; Closed on Mondays. DESCRIPTION:The Cultural Center at Ponte Vedra Beach\, FL is hosting sip\, taste\, talk\, and create events at the Cultural Center this summer during a monthly tasting series that is sure to be good to the last drop.\n\nOn Monday\, August 19\, 2019\, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.\, take time to taste a variety of craft beer from Jacksonville’s Intuition Ale Works. We’ve teamed up with Intuition Ale Works and the volunteers of the Cultural Center to present a program to please the senses. There will be a talk on this flavorful topic\, a host of light bites to complement the spirits\, and an interactive craft beer-inspired project to get your creative juices flowing.\n\nTickets to the event cost $35 and guests must be 21 years of age or older. Tickets can be purchased by visiting ccpvb.org.\n\nThe following exhibitions will be on view: Compromised Boundaries\, works by the Society of Mixed Media Artists; Curatorial Choice\, works by Bruce Carr\, Jeanne Hollington\, Vicky Lennon\, and Karen F. Rose; and A World of Their Own\, works by pediatric patients of Wolfson Children’s Hospital.\n\nThis event is one in a series of tastings hosted by the Volunteers of the Cultural Center to support repair work and maintenance to the fountain at the front of the Center.

DESCRIPTION:Throughout this 6-week introduction class\, students will explore the basic concepts of improvisation in a warm\, safe and supportive environment. The class is designed to build self-confidence and explore creativity using the fundamentals of improvisation.
