SUMMARY:St. Augustine Music Festival: Ileana Fernandez and Wendy Chen
DESCRIPTION:Both the elegant lyricism of Mozart and the sometimes raucous wit of Saint Saens will share the spotlight in a two-piano SAMF concert June 28. Ileana Fernandez and Wendy Chen will take charge of twin Steinways to kick off the second week of the festival with Wolfgang Mozart’s engagingly refined Piano Concerto No. 10 in E-flat for Two Pianos\, K. 365. After intermission\, they will join the orchestral menagerie in Camille Saint-Saens’ colorful “Carnival of the Animals\,” a tongue-in-cheek musical depiction of the animal kingdom\, from ferocious lions to gently drifting fish to\, well\, obsessive pianists!
